Lychee Lynn

My buddy and I went to check out Loretta Lynn at Massey Hall last Friday. She's over 70 and still rocks the crowd as good as ever. The new album, which is a collaboration with The White Stripes', Jack White is awesome! You can have a listen to it by hitting the link under WHAT'S DAVE LISTENING TO (on the right).

Something troubled me about the show though.

Loretta's youngest daughter came out before it began to tell us about their simply wonderful cookbook. Apparently they've already sold 50,000 copies, and they just happened to bring along 30 autographed copies with them to the show! Well ain't that convenient! She also told the audience that they have t-shirts and CDs for sale too...clearly the business "brain" of the family.

Then, it began...she mentioned that every time her mom comes to Toronto, she MUST eat at Lichee Garden. The whole band just love their amazing Chinese food. Even the Lynn daughters swear not to leave Toronto before indulging in eggrollls and noodles at Lichee Garden.

They must have said "Lichee Garden" 12 times! Then, even Loretta herself plugged the restaurant. She exclaimed, they're all headed there after the show!

God only knows how much money Mr. Lichee made that night, but I'm dying to find out the deal they've made. General Tao's chicken and deep friend rice for life no doubt.



Don't get me wrong though - Loretta still rocks!
