Save CBGB's

I'll be honest, I've only been to New York city once; I loved it! (cliches aside).
One of the most important musical and cultural landmarks in NYC, and the States for that matter is CBGB.

CBGB stands for: COUNTRY BLUEGRASS BLUES, and OMFUG stands for OTHER MUSIC FOR UPLIFTING GORMANDIZERS. And what is a gormandizer? It's a voracious eater of,
in this case, MUSIC.

Of course CBGB became famous for introducing bands like The Ramones, Blondie, Talking Heads, Television, Patti Smith, Joan Jett & the Black Hearts, the Police, the B-52's, Black Flag, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Jeff Buckley, and the Smashing Pumpkins.

The place is a temple to all things musical, and it's with this sad post that news of it's potential closure has reached me.

Please take a moment to visit SAVE CBGB site, if you're at all interested in the history of Rock N' Roll. You can sign their petition too!
