When Heather and I use to live in Prague, we often went to this cool, underground bar that was in the Old Town. The name of the bar slips my mind at the moment. You would walk in a small store front, follow some stairs down and be inside. They only served one beer on tap, but it was a Czech beer; if you know Czech beer, you know you're alright.
As soon as you sat down, they brought you two beers and plopped them down in front of you. Next to the beers would be a pad of paper, where the waiter would tick off two lines. As we neared finishing our first round, without question, another two would be plopped down in front of us. The waiter would smile and tick off another two lines. This would continue until you'd say "enough already".
Well on that note, Professor Andreas Butz, at the University of Munich, Germany has invented something bars sure can use. An intelligent coaster that alerts the bartender that your glass is empty and needs refreshing.
