It was shortly afterwards that I packed my bags and moved to Ireland - the best decision I've ever made (see: www.twoboobsandababy.com).
I was given a background role as a disco dancer (I hate disco) at Studio 54 in the film (appropriately titled...) "54". It wasn't a very good film, it wasn't terrible either. It stared Ryan Phillippe and Neve Campbell with Salma Hayek and Mike Myers.
I spent two weeks in the studios on Lakeshore Blvd. in Toronto. Two weeks of strutting myself in 1978, on the dance floor of New York's infamous Studio 54.
The outcome? Do you really want to know? Do you really want to see this?
Ok...you asked for it.
Before you do though, I should note that I was wardrobed with a wig. And no, I can't dance.
Did you spot me?
One of my first jobs in Ireland was at a video store. It was hilarious when a group of girls returned a copy of "54". I asked them how they liked it and they said it was 'alright'. As they searched the walls for something to rent I cued up the tape to my scene.
I asked the girls if they wanted to see something funny in the film. Then I played it in the store monitor. They just about hit the roof when they saw me in the movie.
