Podcasting by any means necessary

As you probably know, I am the co-host and producer of Two Boobs and a Baby Plus. A couple of days ago Heather and I recorded Episode 38. The episode was a fun-filled thirty minutes of unrecorded podcasting gold - yes, UN-recorded. I accidentally hit play on our iRiver rather than record. Oh, the woes of the podcaster!

We promised our listeners that we would re-record the episode and get it out to podcast land by yesterday. We were able to record the new episode (version two) in the morning, but I was heading to Nashville for the night for some business.

Last night I was enjoying a beer and editing our podcast on the laptop in Nashville at a cafe called Fido. The drag about Fido is that they don't offer power, however they do offer free Wifi (and great food and service). I recently bought a new Dell battery that was long over due, because I knew this going there.

I was ready to upload the file when the power ran down. We promised the episode would be released last night, so I walked my open laptop in to the bathroom. I found an electrical outlet uncovered - Ha! So I plugged in the laptop and continued to upload the file.

I should note that I was busted by a staff member, but he was really cool about it. Actually, I was able to have one of the managers plug my machine in in the office, so that it could continue to transfer while I enjoyed another beer and some grub.

I was happy, our listeners were happy, and the wait staff were happy because I tipped well. I even got to the Belcourt Theater across the road just in time to catch the much anticipated David Lynch film "Inland Empire".

As a side note - don't waste your time and money on "Inland Empire". The movie was three hours of my life I won't get back. I didn't feel bad though, because I supported an indy theater...you should all do that once in a while before they become extinct.

Dave Delaney, shutting up and signing off.
