Missing Ed Mirvish

The city of Toronto will never be the same. RIP Ed.
I just wrote this story of first meeting Ed.

When I was about 16, a buddy and I were passing by Ed's Warehouse. We had decided to splurge on a late lunch.

We both walked up the steps and attempted to open the doors to enter, but the doors were locked. We realized that the restaurant was closed to set up for dinner.

I turned to my friend and proclaimed that I was shocked to find Ed's closed. Then as I said this, we heard a voice behind us.

We turned and looked to the street below the stairs. There stood Ed himself, looking up and smiling at us. He spread his arms and shrugged his shoulders and said, "Don't blame me, I just work here!"

Classic Ed.

It was many years later that I was lucky enough to get a job as Marketing Manager for the Toronto production of Hairspray. Some of my fondest memories were made while

Toronto will never be the same.
