An inch of snow fell and Tennessee is in a state of emergency. The bread and milk shelves are bare as residents are scrambling to stock up. The local news programs are reporting nothing more than stories related to the inch of snow that fell this morning.
This is really funny for a Canadian like me, or any Canadian for that matter. We're watching day time telelvision as the news-ticker floats by with announcements of school closings everywhere.
When my wife Heather first moved to Toronto she actually thought she would get a "snow day" on the first sight of a few flakes of the white stuff. Ha! I explained that there needs to be several feet of snow before any real measure is taken. Sorry Heather, no day off from teaching for you.
