Just when the air couldn't get worse...

"This sends a strong signal to City negotiators and local politicians," said Brian Cochrane, president of Local 416. "If the City fails to address the issues of concern to Local 416 and its members, 6,000 workers are now set to withdraw their services next Friday, July 8th."

It was terrible last time it happened. Kids couldn't use the parks, the streets were littered, and the air was disgusting. Even ferrys to the Islands weren't running. There's GOT to be a better way.

So much for CUPE's big-hearted EARTH DAY children's contest. A strike wouldn't really help celebrate our earth now would it?

Often times I find it's difficult to understand WHY people strike. The news never really reports the union's issues. I've included a link, so you can decide for yourself.

Cheers.
Dave
