C.C. Chapman

I have to admit, I'm a late bloomer to the world of C.C. Chapman. I've only just subscribed to his podcast, Managing the Gray. Let me tell you, if you are interested at all in new media, I would really recommend you check his show out.

C.C. is so energetic and cool to listen too. He's really got his head on his shoulders for marketing in new media.

So this is a shameless plug for Managing the Gray. Have a listen today.

Cheers,
Dave

Bored of old Canadian music?

Every time I turn Q107 and on in the car it's the same shit. There's loads of good stuff too, but it's all old, and I'm bored of it. Not to mention the fact that when a radio station reduces it's playlist, the number of listeners tend to increase - go figure! We love to drive and tap our toes (lightly on the pedals please!) to music we know. That's why you see so many people signing along on the road - a little to Wayne's World if you ask me.

If you're on a 'puter and looking for great new Canadian music, look no further!

Check out CBC3. Thanks Grant Lawrence for digging up some great NEW tunage. You can also subscribe to the podcast for free here in iTunes too.

Shane and Tom's Squeezebox

Hey kids. I'm going to post about podcasts I listen to here from time to time. Be sure to check them out.

This week it's Windor, Ontario's Shane and Tom from Shane and Tom's Squeezebox. I've been listening to them for some time now, and I love how wacky they get. We all met at Podcasters Across Borders last year; they're just as nice in person as they sound on air.

This week topics include: Tom doesn't greet the Seasons Greetings, Shane on You: smoking while riding a bike, NEW WORDPLAY TOPIC: smoking during excercise.

Drop by and have a listen. Tell em' Dave sent ya!

Choosing a new TV

I'm not really in the market for a new television at the moment. With our big move to Nashville creeping up quickly, we can hardly afford to eat!

However, I will want to buy a new TV in the next year, and thanks to Tod Maffin, I have a better idea now. Very amusing piece too!

Have a listen to this short podcast about choosing a TV. Tod's got more great podcasts here at Tod Bits.
Enjoy.

All Songs Considered: 10 best CDs of 2006

I love NPR. Especially a show called All Songs Considered, which is available in podcast format for all you non-NPR-types (myself included).

I have discovered many gems on the show, which features new music from an array of bands from every genre under the sun.

All Songs Considered host Bob Boilen counts down listener picks for the 10 best CDs of 2006, with reviewers Robert Christgau, Will Hermes, Meredith Ochs and John Richards. They also share some of their own favorites from the year and take comments from listeners. This program originally webcast live on NPR.org Dec. 5, 2006. Below are the top 10 CDs of 2006 chosen in our online poll, with select comments from the listeners who love them.

You can subscribe to the show here.

Enjoy.

Dry Shave

I've been listening to a podcast called Dry Shave. The hosts call it: a medley of thoughts and impressions published by two satirical freelance public broadcasters.

The hosts are really Karen and Ross from the now defunct Zee and Zed podcast, which was an awesome show too. They're both really cool people - so show them some love and have a listen:
Hear their promo here.

I like what they're doing with Dry Shave. They take turns rather than "couple cast", and tell stories from their past. The stories are always followed by an awesome track, usually punk r-a-w-k songs. Tres cool (that's French).

If ya like Rockabilly music, you should check out this live streaming station. I've been grooving to it quietly at work and loudly at home.
Enjoy.
